Why can’t I connect using Auto-Config / Zen / Zero-Config Networking? Toggle

The Auto/Zero/Zen config networking does not work on the iPad in the same way as it does with a PC.

This is called link-local and uses IP 169.254.x.y addressing range.

More info can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3798

For quick reference only – this means you must enter a Static IP address in the range of your network (usually 169.254.x.y with subnet –

(or use static IP addressing or have a DHCP enabled router/server on the system).

To find out what range your Lake devices are utilizing you can go into Lake Controller > Modules > I/O Config >Technical Data

Here you will see whether the devices are set to Auto – Zero Config, Auto – DHCP, Fixed IP addressing.

Set your iPad to the same IP address format and subnet as found here.

You can also go to the front of the Lake frame to find the IP/subnet information:

Menu > Frame > Frame Info > Network
